Magazine De Actuaris

In June 1993 the first edition of De Actuaris, the magazine of het Koninklijk Actuarieel Genootschap (AG, Royal Dutch Actuarial Association), was published. De Actuaris is characterized by its (socially) relevant actuarial, economic and financial issues, which are discussed from varying thematic perspectives.

De Actuaris is distributed to members and stakeholders of AG, subscribers, students and teachers of the Actuarieel Instituut.

All articles submitted are to be send digitally to Frank Thooft, magazine manager. All contributions are first reviewed by the editors. The author always receives proof of his or her final article first before proceeding to publication. The editorial staff of magazine De Actuaris consists of professionals (formally) active in the actuarial practice, facilitated by a magazine manager. The editors are jointly responsible for the publication of the magazine.

    Author instructions

    Extract from authors instructions for De Actuaris:


    • A two page article contains around 1200 words or 10.000 characters (including
      blanks).
    • Please bear in mind that illustrations in general take up a lot of space.
    • Articles to be submitted in the form of plain text (no italics, bold or underlining),
      preferably in Arial 10 pts.
    • The title and the subheadings can be done in bold.
    • Please submit illustrations in separate (jpg) files, plus an indication in the text where
      about they should be incorporated.
    • Please try to void the use of footnotes as much as possible.
    • Please add a brief CV of the author(s) plus a (digital) passport photo. The photos
      should be at least 25 mm wide and 300 dpi.
    • When an author offers a document to De Actuaris for publication, the author implicitly
      indicates that the material is copyright-free. Neither the AG board nor the editorial
      board of De Actuaris accepts any liability for any copyright infringement by the author
      and will fully recover any damage from the author.

    The editorial board will screen all articles and revise them if necessary. Revised articles
    will be sent to the author for approval only in case of material changes. A pdf will be sent
    after lay-out, just to let the author check possible miswritings and to okay the article for
    print. The pdf is not meant for further alterations on the article.
